Periphera 2024 brings together art and technology in Trafaria with lectures, exhibitions, and workshops on new technological and creative trends.
On November 8, 9, and 10, the village of Trafaria and the Convent of Capuchos will host Periphera 2024, the Digital Art Festival that offers a meeting point between technology, art, and innovation. For three days, the festival will explore the boundaries between art and technology, fostering reflection on the transformative impact of these intersections through exhibitions, performances, lectures, and workshops.

The event will feature a panel of renowned speakers and artists, including Mark Farid (UAL), Candy Flores (co-founder of Dimmersions and one of the 100 most influential women in global technology), Pete Kersher (European Institute for Design and Disabilities), Rama Geraawo (Sony consultant and director of the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design), Pedro da Veiga (professor and artist), and João Martinho Moura (researcher and artist). These experts will tackle innovative topics through round tables, performances, and exhibitions.

In addition to the lectures, Periphera will offer participants an immersive experience with workshops focused on emerging technologies such as 3D printing and immersive realities, allowing direct interaction with new technological trends. Another highlight of the festival will be the presentation of eight artistic proposals developed during the artistic residency held at the Trafaria Prison, exploring the intersection of art, technology, and community.

This event aims to position Trafaria as a reference point for creativity and technological advancement, fostering collaborations between artists, designers, technologists, and companies. Among the featured projects will be the digitalization of museums and virtual tours promoted by NOVA IAT, as well as a virtual reality space organized by E2Tech, founder of Lisbon Games Week.

The event will feature the following speakers and artists:
